Matt and Ryan, I find it so humbling when clarity follows tragedy. Thank you for your honesty about the slow process of waking-up to what truly matters in your creative work--and ultimately in your lives beyond the music.

Thank you for this, Ann. I think this is why I’ve always been so drawn to your microseasons project - your ability to see the small moments, the incremental changes, in our world equates, in my mind, to a conscious effort to slow down. Which is really what so much of my clarity centers around - trying to slow down, to see the microseasons in myself, to move with more intentionality through my days. Easier said than done, but worth the effort.

Well worth the effort, my friend. It infuses your music with a warmth that feels healing and centering to me. Thank you for putting so much of yourself into each piece.

Thank you for your openness and willingness to share your story, Matt. It's always fascinating how people's lives are reflected by and influence their art. To have suffered such trauma and eventually find a way back to making music that felt true to you is something we can all learn from.

And thanks Ryan, for the thought-provoking questions in the interview.

Thank you, Glyn - I certainly gained a new appreciation for music, and for composing in particular. Thanks so much for reading.

Really enjoyed this. I had never really put the pieces together completely of Matt’s brain injuries coinciding with COVID lockdowns when staying home was akin to being a hero. That must’ve been such a difficult process with mixed messages running through your head, man.

Can’t think of a better human to interview. And glad to find Ryan’s work in the process, too.

Thank you, T. Yeah, it really was such a strange, isolating time, with a million points of confusion and chaos. Everyone was in some place of difficulty during those first couple of years of the pandemic.

Wow, this is such a powerful interview. I can't imagine working my way back from one, but two brain injuries and having to create an entirely new relationship with music.
