organizing an accident is a weekly newsletter where I leak home demos of unreleased songs, first draft lyrics, thoughts on the creative process, & dispatches from music life in Paris.
Listen to “Full of Light” (demo):
This song was written on May 4, 2021
This is demo leak #87
For more than half of 2024, I’ve been working privately on a new project that has put all others, namely musical ones, on the back burner.
I’m not ready to talk about it yet, other than to say that it has given my life purpose, fulfillment, and revived my creative spirit in a way I didn’t know I needed (and no, I’m not talking about fatherhood, though that has been the greatest project of all).
I’m back in Paris and therefore diving in wholeheartedly to the daily work. A combination of excitement, faith, and delusion carry me to the studio each morning and, using a few lyrical lines from today’s demo as a sort of mantra, I’ll leave it there:
I’m full of hope
Full of time
Full of love
Full of light
“Full of Light” lyrics
I guess all along that I’ve been helpless
Or I thought it once and it came true
I get close enough 'til I can’t help
This call for you
Had a dream where I was in the ocean
And your light could guide me back to shore
Patient eyes are like a warm emotion
Cutting through
I’m full of hope
Full of time
Full of love
Full of light
In another time I might have missed it
And the two of us would not have met
Just the thought and I could count the minutes
Here with you
Take my word and all the rest will follow
Leave your worries there where I can’t go
Take that road of love and let tomorrow
Lead us through
I’m full of hope
Full of time
Full of love
Full of light
